SSSGP 3rd: Semifinal A [SS-13]
Having made it through the previous round, not without some problems though, the first semifinal welcomes Yui Nanase (red) and Anri Kawai (navy blue). Yui has a physical advantage and uses it as soon as the match starts, putting her opponent in a Boston Crab and an STF. Yui transforms the STF into a mix of STF and Rings of Saturn to maximize the stretch, but she breaks the hold when she sees there will not be much gain from there.
Yui goes with an Abdominal Stretch, then pushes Anri to the ground and stretches her arms in a Surfboard variation. The position invites to continue with a Chinlock, and so does Yui after it. Anri escapes by targeting a very delicate area of the body, wears down Yui, and connects a Shinning Star Press. Anri clamps on a Figure 4 Leglock, and one minute later she is stretching Yui's arms in a hold similar to the one she had received before.
A Figure 4 Headscissors from Yui becomes later in a Stretch Muffler that Anri locks on Yui. Infuriated by Anri, Yui takes the match into a more physically oriented approach, where she dominates with a few throws and chokes. Backed into the corner, Anri suffers more choking and receives a few chops to the chest before hitting the mat with a Suplex. Yui sees an opportunity with this strategy, repeats a Suplex, and dishes a Sharpshooter. Although Anri makes some shy attempts to gain the upper hand, Yui manages to dominate and punish her with a Figure 4 Leglock, a Boston Crab, and a Sleeper. Yui has Anri's back as the primary target, and it will be hard for Anri to turn the fight around.
There is a special match in this video featuring two powerhouses of different companies: Nana Kunimi (white/red) is a well-known female wrestler of SSS, while Rina Fukada (grey) is the ace of WU. Rina suffered a crushing defeat in FGV-15 and it's looking to bounce back here.
The match does not start well for her, as Nana effectively targets her legs and connects a painful Legbar. Nana capitalizes the moment with a tight Figure 4 Leglock. Despite its proximity, Rina struggles to reach the ropes. With no ref calling the match, Nana breaks the hold with a sportsmanlike attitude but soon forgets about it by kicking Rina relentlessly while she is on the ground. Rina fights back, and there is a moment of pure catfighting before an expert Cross Armbar has Nana fearing the integrity of her arm. An unsuccessful pin attempt from Rina leads to two consecutive Powerbombs and a Stretch Muffler.
Nana is not done yet, and the match becomes a back-and-forth battle until one move makes it impossible for one beauty to continue.
