SSS 2nd Grand Prix - Semifinal A [SS-08]

Quarterfinals were relatively easy for Yu Matsuzawa (black) and Rina Yuki (blue/yellow), but what is at stake now is a spot in the big finale and both girls need to show all her skills and potential.

Rina wears down Yu in the first moments of the match, controlling her with a Figure 4 Headscissors, but it doesn't take long for Yu, bigger and with more strength, to turn the tables and lock a Single Crab. Yu quickly makes a swift transition to STF, but Rina not only does not give up, but she starts crawling towards the ropes. Yu perfectly reads the play and drags Rina by the foot back to the centre and applies a Figure 4 Leglock.

Rina is not done yet, as she reverses and proceeds to punish Yu's right leg with an Anklelock and several kicks to the knee. After an exchange of different submission holds, Yu decides two can play the game and follows the same technique to weaken Runi's leg. The enormous display of wrestling takes a toll in both contenders, exhausted and aching, but it does not prevent one of them from not accepting defeat until is forced to verbally express her submission.
